Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan engineered wood panel production
- Review engineered wood panel production schedule, workplace health and safety requirements, environmental protection practices and emergency procedures, and confirm requirements with relevant personnel
- Identify and report hazards and use personal protective equipment according to workplace requirements and health and safety legislation to maintain safe work practices
- Inspect engineered wood panel characteristics and record and report variations to operators
- Plan, schedule and communicate engineered wood panel type, sizes and production methods to operators
- Maintain communication with operators as required, to ensure health and safety and production requirements are met
- Monitor engineered wood panel production outcomes and record information
- Monitor engineered wood panel production for effective forming, laminating or veneering outcomes and panel condition
- Assist operators to evaluate engineered wood panels, identify faults and rectify production problems
- Develop processes for rejecting and disposing of sub-standard engineered wood panels produced according to site procedures and environmental requirements
- Monitor engineered wood panel production and output management and record possible process improvements
- Coordinate engineered wood panel production and record information
- Modify production methods or schedules as required, to ensure optimum performance
- Communicate to operators and record production improvement modifications according to site procedures
- Direct produced engineered wood panels to storage or transfer for further processing
- Record and report engineered wood panel production data, output data, quality data and equipment faults according to record keeping procedure and site requirements
